Destin and South Walton are known around the world for our powder like white sand that literally "squeaks" when you walk on it. Destin is also designated as a Tree city and offers many public parks and boat launches.
The City of Destin has 12 Beach access points located in city limits. These points are patroled by Destin Fire Rescue, however you are swimming at your own risk. Always remember to obey the flagged conditions on the beach.

* Henderson Beach State Park (Fee required.)

* Barracuda Street Public Beach Access
* Pompano Street Public Beach Access
* James Lee Park Public Beach
The City of Destin also maintains several parks and public boat launches. These are listed below. All parks are open from Dawn to Dusk with the exception of Joes Bayou Boat Launch and Destin Sports Fields.
